Oh hi - did I ever tell you I had a sundeck? I didn’t? Oh, well I do - this is the view. Oh yeah, you can see the Wburg + Brooklyn bridges to the right, to the right too, and there’s also a fine view of the Woolworth building and points south. Maybe I didn’t tell you because until about an hour ago I Didn’t Know … damn you can be a bubble girl Holden, but hello summer!! Very happy with this evening’s discovery!Oh, man, I wish I could have seen your face when you first emerged from that stairwell!
I find this so chilling. How easily they tell us not to worry. I say: Parents, make your own informed decision. Do your own research. And for god’s sake, don’t blindly trust one of the numerous government regulatory agencies that are absolutely entwined with lobbies and big business.
Oh, and the studies this FDA announcement was based on? They only used two. And they were conducted by the Society of the Plastics Industry.

A few months after I moved to New York late last summer, my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I began making weekly trips back to Baltimore to be with my parents and help out, but the constant back and forth from NY was taking its toll on me. In addition, I was basically living at my parents’ house and I wasn’t really loving that. I had already dropped my Spring classes at the New School before the semester even began and so eventually I decided to find an apartment here in Baltimore, where I was needed, and settle in.
Working on fixing up this apartment is such a bright spot in my life right now. I love doing it and it’s very therapeutic for me in a number of ways. I want to share what I have been doing here, both in terms of the design work itself and the philosophy behind it, plus how it all ties in to my thoughts and feelings about the changes that are going on in my life right now.
To that end, I have started another tumblr as a companion to this one. Inner sanctum is focused on the evolving design of my Baltimore place and, a bit more indirectly, on my own personal evolution. All my other junk will still be here on mynylife. Oh, and if you know anyone who might be interested in a NY Midtown sublet, please let me know. This double-rent business is tough!
The Lodwicks came to visit last weekI think this photo will be a family-history classic.
LOVE!
Crowd sourcing question — I bought some of those Breast Cancer donation stamps a year ago or longer. They seem to continue to make them regardless of the current postage rate, with qualifying the date (that is, it just says ‘First Class’). Do I need to put additional postage on them now, and how much? I’m not trying to cadge the USPS, but the rates change so fast, how can I know how many cent stamps I need? I expect lots of reblogs like “What’s a stamp?”I happened to go to the post office right after reading this and I asked. The stamps are still good. You’re welcome.
