In Ljubljana, most people speak English fairly well, which is a good thing because Slovenian is almost nothing like English or German, or even French or Italian. There are very few words that are recognizable to me or my mother and brother.
You can get a menu in English at all the restaurants, but few signs are in English. So when I needed to go to the bathroom at dinner last night, I was confounded by this signage. I had to ask a waiter — Am I a Zenske or a Moski ?
Answer: Zenske
